Crochet Hooks are made of steel, aluminum, plastic, and bamboo, and they come in a variety of styles from several manufacturers. Unfortunately, there is no clear standard the sizing of crochet hooks. It varies between manufacturers and is different depending on the material they are made of. US sizing of steel hooks starts at size 14 for the smallest needle and goes downward to size 00 for the largest. UK sizing is equally confusing starting at size 6 for the largest steel hook and going down to size 3/0 for the smallest. Furthermore, aluminum, plastic, and bamboo in the US are sized from B for the smallest to K for the largest, while the follows a number system similar to the US system for steel hooks. Amid all this, the only sizing scheme that makes any consistent sense is the metric as it is based on the actual measurement of the diameter of the hook. Our steel hooks come from Skacel and INOX. Skacel gives both the metric and US sizes on their packages, and that is the way we will post them on our site.
